Joanne R. Cortez, 68, of Swisher, Iowa, died Sunday, January 9, 2011 in her home. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2011, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; daughters, Trista Cortez and Tina (Bruce) Butz both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Ashley and Brandie Butz; two great grandchildren, Melina and Cameryn; brother, David; and sister, Charlene.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents.
Born August 18, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Joanne was the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Sage) Hunter. On April 24, 1962, Joanne was united in marriage to Richard Cortez.
