JoAnn Moore, a daughter, a wife, a mother, a friend, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018. Visitation: 5 – 7 p.m. Friday March 2, 2018, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. A reception will follow burial at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood, Cedar Rapids.
JoAnn was born November 3, 1935 to Matilda (Jiras) Stanek and Elmer Stanek. She married Gale Moore July 22, 1953. They had 5 children together. When her children were half grown she went back to school to complete her high school education. Then after Gale and JoAnn divorced; she went to Capri Cosmetology and became a hair stylist. She ran her own business in Shueyville for many years and befriended many.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Matilda Stanek and her son, Patrick Moore.
Surviving JoAnn are her children, Michael (Vicky) Moore, Tim (Carrie) Moore, Julie (Randy) Stoneman and James Moore. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. JoAnn had recently been living at Willow Gardens Care Center and had many friends there.
