Joan Kay Tharp

Joan Kay Tharp, 69, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Willow Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, September 19, at 1:00p.m. with a Celebration of Life service following at 2:00 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Joan is survived by her husband, Donnie Tharp; sons, Donald Tharp, Jerry Tharp, and Glen Tharp; daughters, Katherine Huber, Joann (Chris) Zobac, and Deb Tharp; grandchildren, Mathew, Megan, Emma, Abby, Melissa, Zach, and Claria; brothers, Tom and Harvey; sister, Marilyn; sister-in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and four sisters.
Joan was born on February 4, 1946, to Fred and Floria (Heck) LaGrange. She married Donnie Tharp on May 27, 1973 and was employed at Coopers Mill and St. Lukes Living Center West. She enjoyed walking and doing puzzles. Joan was considered the “Puzzle Champion” at Willow Gardens where she had lots of friends and was loved by everyone. In her younger days, she enjoyed fishing.
