Joan Rosemary (Butschi) Reding, 86, was called to the Lord, July 9, 2015, after a stroke. Family will greet friends from 4-7p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Murdoch- Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Service: 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 13, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, conducted: Rev David Renfro. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She is survived by her children, Bev (Terry) Elbert of Indianola, Iowa, Steve Reding of Preston, Iowa, Deb Spain, Mark (Cheryl) Reding, Sherrie ( Bob) Justin, Darlene (Dave) Frith and Renee (Bob) Reding, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son-in-law, Don Culver of Pleasant Lake, Indiana; Siblings, Robert, Betty and Helen. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, Chad, Edward, Rob, Joy, Dawn, Alicia, Mike, Matthew, Becky, Jarod, Naomi; and Kyle; ten great-grandchildren.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; daughter, Connie; and siblings, Violet, Joyce and John.
Joan was born April 29, 1929, daughter of John and Mary (Fischer) Butschi, in Morley, Iowa. Joan was married to Clarence Reding on December 11, 1959. She had many jobs throughout her life. But being a mother and home maker was what she enjoyed. Joan loved crafts, baking, helping people and her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran kitchen or Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospice, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
