Joan Kann (Powers)

Joan Powers Kann, 74, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006, following a long illness.
Private family graveside services will be conducted.
Joan is survived by her children, Jaci (Rick) Leidigh of Robins, and Kathie Neibert of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Chad (Kelly Dougherty) Leidigh, Jamie Leidigh, Lisa (Derrick) Huffy and Natalie (Brad Fisher) Neibert; a sister, Patricia (James) Burke; two brothers, George Powers and Joseph (Janet) Powers; and a special cousin, Patty Moorman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Wally Kann, Jr.; granddaughter, Brooke Leidigh in infancy; and husband, Wallace E. Kann, Sr.
Joan was born November 28, 1931 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Joseph and Julie (McMahon) Powers. She worked for the Cedar Rapids Water Department as a meter reader for many years. Joan was very excited about her soon-to-be great-grandchild.
