Joan M. Peters, 81, of Delhi, died December 26, 2016, at Marietta’s Place surrounded by family and loved ones. Visitation: 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016, St. John’s Catholic Church, Delhi, Iowa, with a 3:00 p.m. Scripture Service, and visitation one hour prior to Mass on Friday. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016, with Rev. John Kremer officiating. Burial: St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Delhi. Joan was born August 15, 1935, in rural Hopkinton, Iowa, the daughter of David and Frances (Sherlock) Werner. She married Ivan Peters on November 30, 1957, at Sand Springs, Iowa. Joan was a homemaker for many years and later provided hospice home health care. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers. She was a great cook who loved to bake for others. Joan was a caring person, providing hospice home health care to many. Joan loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Gregg (Joan) Peters of Hopkinton, Curt (Kathy Jurgens) Peters of Delhi, Karla Peters of Delhi, Lisa (Bob) Pfeiler of Manchester, Jane (Jeff) Willenbring of Earlville; grandchildren, Angie (Adam) Feldmann, Kyle Peters, Matt (Kristy) Peters, Emily (Isaac Frieden) Peters, Erica (Michael) Steinberg, Lucas (Hanna Koloc) Pfeiler, and Kyla Pfeiler, Clay Willenbring and Cole Willenbring; great-grandchildren Anna, Addie, and Ian Feldmann, Everly and Hadley Steinberg, and was awaiting the arrival of a great-grandchild any day; siblings, Duane (Yvonne) Werner of Dyersville, and Kay (Walter) Loecke of Manchester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; a son, Brian Peters; a granddaughter, Amy Peters; and her parents.
