Joan Arlene (Fye) Levine, 70, of 485 Drake Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, October 12, 2007, in her home following a long illness. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 15, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Kathryn Roys. The family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Inurnment: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Jodi (Don) Uhing of Omaha, Sue Williams, Laurie (Doug) Lowe and Tom (Nenita) Fye all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Amy DeBoer, Vicki Stolba, Jeff Stolba, Amanda Williams, Brian Lowe, Chad Lowe, Kylie Fye and Dereck Fye; nine great grandchildren; brothers, James (Sue) Fisher of Coralville and Judd Fisher of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Joyce Baker and Jan (Ernie) Osborne both of Cedar Rapids; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Doris Fye.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Darrel Fye and Eddie Levine.
Joan was born October 27, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of James and Arlene (Shepardson) Fisher. She married Darrel Fye. They later divorced. She then married Eddie Levine who died. She was employed by Woolworths.
Joan was the glue of her family. She enjoyed QVC, word puzzles, knitting, cards and cooking shows.
Her family will dearly miss her.
