Jill L. Kolka, 47, of Masonville and formerly of Ryan, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City after a sudden illness.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Peace Lutheran Church in Ryan. Friends may call from 4- 8 p.m. on Friday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester and for one hour before services Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, rural Masonville.
Jill was born May 29, 1958 in Merrill, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jack L. and Audrey J. (Schroeder) Kolka, Sr. She attended school in Ryan and graduated from West Delaware High School in 1976. Jill graduated from Kirkwood College in 1978. She worked for a law firm in Phoenix, Arizona before returning to the area in 1996. For the past six years, Jill worked for the Dollar General Store in Manchester.
Jill was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Ryan. She enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and loved her pets, Tigger, Smokey and Yukon.
Jill is survived by her special companion, Arlan Henderson of Masonville; her parents, Jack L. & Audrey J. Kolka, Sr. of Ryan; her siblings, Lynn (Andy) Richmond of Ryan, Jack (Julie) Kolka, Jr. of Highlandville, Iowa, Mary (Charlie) Brown of Beaverton, Oregon, Lori (Carl) Drees and Mark [Dee] Kolka, both of Ryan; a special niece and godchild, Mercedes Drees of Ryan; and many other nieces and nephews.
Jill was preceded in death by her grandparents, John & Helen Kolka and Charlie & Frieda Schroeder.
