Jessie F. Smock, 103, formerly of Manchester and Greeley, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at the Edgewood Convalescent Home, Edgewood, Iowa after a long illness.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2006 at the Greeley United Methodist Church by Pastor Ruth Tibbott. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour before services Monday at the church. Burial will be in Grant View Cemetery, Greeley.

Jessie was born December 10, 1902 in Elkport, the daughter of Cephas and Ermina (Holtzman) Morley. She attended Elk Center Country School then worked as a domestic for area families. On May 10, 1921 Jessie was united in marriage to Glen J. "Jake? Smock in Elkader. The couple farmed near Elk Creek and retired to Greeley in 1956. In 1978 they moved to Manchester where Glen died in 1989. Jessie moved to the Edgewood Convalescent Home in 1997.

Jessie is survived by two children, Glen J. "Junior? (Mattie) Smock of Dubuque and Phyllis (Gene) Amthauer of Strawberry Point; a daughter-in-law, Linda Smock of Delaware; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, Cephas & Ermina Morley; her husband, Jake Smock; a son, Richard G. "Jerry? Smock; three grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters and six brothers.
