Jerry Lee Meek, 63, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away, on May 4, 2017, after a long illness. Memorial service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Christ Church Presbyterian, 2000 1st Ave NW, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends at a reception at the church immediately following the services. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Gwen Meek; son, Derek Meek; daughter-in-law, Trudy Meek; granddaughter, Ceridwen Meek; half-brother, Tom Meek; half-sister, Donna Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerrald Meek; two infant brothers; four half-sisters; two half-brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was born, January 9, 1954, the son of Louis and Madeline (Weckmann) Meek, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was baptized at First Lutheran Church of Cedar Rapids on May 30th, 1998. Jerry loved his boy’s, cats, dogs, classic cars, gardening and camping.
