Jerry Lee Fitzpatrick
February 21, 1938 — March 5, 2007
Jerry L. Fitzpatrick, 69, of 4108 Water Point Court S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, March 5, 2007, in Mercy Medical Center following a sudden illness. Gathering of family and friends Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m., March 8, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Private family inurnment: Linwood Mausoleum. Celebration of Life: noon Friday at the Cedar Rapids Horseman?s Club.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; and three sisters, Norma Mattson of Eugene, Oregon, Noreen King of Schenectady, New York and Judy Heimgartner of Quimby, Iowa. He will also be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and very close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Darrell Fitzpatrick.
Jerry was born February 21, 1938, of Kingsley, Iowa, the son of Forest and Elizabeth (Wetrosky) Fitzpatrick. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960. On February 1, 1964, he married Bonnie Kiefer in Cedar Rapids. He retired after 38 years from Evergreen in 2000.
He enjoyed bowling, walking, jogging, traveling and dancing and was a member of the Cedar Rapids Horseman?s Club and the U.A.W. Local #1024. Jerry enjoyed his Saturday morning coffee club where great minds met. After coffee club he moved on to margaritaville to finish the morning discussions.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jerry?s memory.
