Jerald Lee Dreismeier, 82, of Central City, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family will greet friends at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017. A private committal service will take place at a later date at Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include his two sons, Mike (Sue) Dreismeier of Cedar Rapids and Joey (fiancee, Millie McCoy) Dreismeier of Marion; three grandchildren, Eric, Caitlin and Chris of Cedar Rapids; five step-grandchildren, George, Adam, Shyann, Thor, and Mason of Marion; three sisters, Delila Hayworth of Omaha, Nebraska, Joan (Don) Roth of Omaha, Nebraska, and Darlene Dreismeier of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carole Dreismeier; two brothers; and one sister.
Jerald was born January 28, 1935, in Crofton, Nebraska, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Meirose) Dreismeier. He proudly served in the United States Army. Jerald was united in marriage to Carole on August 15, 1959, in Glenwood. He worked at FMC for 27 years, until retiring. Jerald loved spending time with his family and tinkering in his garage.
