Jennifer Lynne Shryers, 58, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, March 21, 2021, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Jennifer was born on September 12, 1962, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Opal (Cartee) Shryers. She graduated from high school and went on to attend Iowa Central Community College where she obtained her associates degree in accounting. Jennifer loved to take care of plants and enjoyed caring for birds. She enjoyed drinking coffee and weekly store visits with her daughter. Jennifer liked to try her hand at catching fish. Above all else, she loved her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Amanda Shryers, and twins, Lydia (Martrell) Perkins and Chavez Williams, all of Hiawatha, Iowa; and grandchildren, Aaliyah Shryers, Martrell Perkins Jr., Maliyah Perkins, Markell Perkins, Niya Cassell, and Isaiah Shryers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Opal Shryers; granddaughter, Madysen Perkins; brother, Edward Shryers; and two dear friends, Kelly and Colleen.
Memorials may be directed to the family to support mental health awareness.
