Jennie Viola Hawker (Annis)
April 24, 1919 — November 15, 2007
Jennie V. Hawker, 88, a resident of Winslow House Care Center in Marion, formerly of Central City, died Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center, following a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Pastor Mary Taylor. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include two sons, Donald D. (Kathryn) Hawker of Central City and Larry J. (Patricia) Hawker of Alburnett; two sisters, Betty Silver of Central City and Shirley (Larry) Rettemeier of Cascade; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers; and five sisters.
Jennie was born April 24, 1919, the son of Wilbur and Nora (Melendie) Annis in rural Coggon. She married Donald R. Hawker in Cedar Rapids in 1938.
Jennie was a loving, caring person who touched many lives. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jennie’s memory.
