Jeff Ringold, 56, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, June 12, 2011, at his home. Memorial Services: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy; his siblings, Myrna King, Nashville, Tennessee, Margie Ringold, Mansfield, Ohio, Shirley (Joe Solomon) Anderson, William Anderson, both of Detroit, Michigan, Kevin Pierre (Sabrina) Ringold of Cedar Rapids, Arnal (Sara) Anderson, Carlos (Martha) Anderson, Albert (Wanda) Thomps, all of Mansfield, Ohio, and Laura (Desriee) Dent of Detroit, Michigan; special Aunt, Ora Lee Courts, Chicago, Illinois; mother-in-law, Rosella Mae Goodwin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sybil Merfeld, Virginia (Gary) Wiltsey, Jody (Ron) Kositzky, Peggy (Willie) Harrell, George G. (Lori) Goodwin, Herbie Goodwin and Leo (Karen) Goodwin; his godsons, Joshua and David; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, James, Lee, Alvin and Kevin Russell.
Jeff was born July 23, 1954, the son of Adam and Ethel (Bunch) Ringold, Jr., in Memphis, Tennessee. A graduate from Mansfield Sr. High, he attended Ohio State University before entering the United States Army, where he was a finance and supply specialist. On September 30, 1989, Jeff married Cindy Goodwin in Arlington, Virginia. They moved to Cedar Rapids in 1993, and he was employed by Longview Fiber and later with Per Mar Security.
An avid bowler and pool player, Jeff also loved to fish and play golf. In his high school years, he was the Manfield Jr. Bowling Champion and later a member the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center League, on the “Ally Opps” team.
