Jeanne A. Manson, 47, of Harmony House Health Care Center, Waterloo, Iowa, died there September 10, 2006, following a sudden illness after being a 21 year brain injury survivor. Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 2006, at St. Mark?s United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Gary Hoyt. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her parents; her brother, Robert Manson of Cedar Rapids; her sister, Ann (Carl) Arbuckle of Ames; niece, Sarah Arbuckle; nephew, Robert Arbuckle; uncle, Robert (Joan) Satterthwaite of Tuscon, Arizona; aunt, Evelyn Cox of Keosauqua, Iowa; many cousins; and many great friends and employees of Harmony House.
Jeanne was born November 25, 1958, in Greenfield, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Marilyn (Satterthwaite) Manson. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1977 and the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Systems. She worked for 3 years as a system analyst for Motorola Corp in Denver, Colorado. She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids and regularly attended services at Harmony House. She was on the gymnastics team at Jefferson High School. Jeanne was active athletically enjoying soccer, skiing, softball, swimming, tennis and track. She was an avid Hawkeye fan. She drove a van for the University of Iowa Department of Sociology to the Appalachians. Jeanne enjoyed movies, loved animals and kids, especially her niece and nephew who were her joy.
