Jeanette (Diers) Tegeler was born February 21, 1926, in Colesburg, Iowa, to Isadore and Alma (Ferring) Diers. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in Colesburg.

Jeanette enjoyed time with family and friends and often spoke of playing by the creek on the farm with her siblings. She enjoyed dancing; it was at a dance in 1946 that she was introduced to her future husband, Conrad. They were married in Colesburg November 4, 1948. The newlyweds moved to Manchester where she was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the family business until they retired.

Jeanette enjoyed traveling with Conrad and her family to all 50 states and Europe. One of her most memorable was passing through Check Point Charlie in Berlin, during the Cold War. She was a wonderful cook and will always be remembered for her delicious cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed walking, gardening and shopping with her daughters.

Her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Jeanette was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters and St. Vincent’s Study Club. She was a Eucharistic minister at the Good Neighbor Home for over 20 years, and a member of the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

Faith and family were most important, she is survived by her husband Conrad; children, Mike (Janet) Tegeler, David (Verla) Tegeler, Susan (Joe) Kelchen, all of Manchester, and Kathy (Ken) Baragary of Marion; son-in-law, Thomas Erceg of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Mark, Jennifer, Matt, Laura, Michelle, Kristin, Stephanie, Sarah, Tim, Elizabeth, Abigail and Jonathon; step-grandchildren, Travis and Megan; 12 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Eileen Olberding and Janice Tegeler; nieces and nephews.
