Jean A. (Leonard) Marshall, 76, of 365 Marion Blvd, Marion, Iowa, died Sunday, December 4, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. John Gossman. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at the funeral home with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.. Entombment: Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum.
Survivors include four sons, Dennis Marshall of North Liberty, Randy Marshall of Cedar Rapids, David (Sonya) Marshall of Marion and Mark Marshall of Anamosa; one daughter, Colleen and fiance?, L.D. Rodriguez of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Jack (Sheryl) Leonard of Anamosa, Doc (Pat) Leonard of Rock Island, Illinois, and Jim (Janice) Leonard of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Linda (Dennis) Norton of Hiawatha; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Leonard of Ely; a brother-in-law, Joe Foarde of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Shirley (Irv) Hinz of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; three sisters, Helen Glanz, Lois Foarde, and Peg Haas; two brothers, Pat Leonard and Bill Leonard.
Jean was born March 3, 1930, in rural Prairieburg, Iowa, the daughter of Owen and Marcella (Supple) Leonard. On June 8, 1954, in Iowa City she was united in marriage to Jack Marshall. He died in 1993. For 20 years she was a transportation aide in the Mercy Medical Center x-ray department.
Jean enjoyed bingo, gambling, reading, books, crafts at the Village and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Village Ridge and Mercy Medical Center doctors, nurses and staff for their wonderful care of Jean.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
