Jean Ann Hamilton, 54, of 2440 Wisconsin Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed on peacefully in her home Sunday, February 3, 2008, surrounded by her loving family.
Services for family and friends will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Deacon Jim Berger. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her mother, Marcella Sumner; children, Mariam (David) Mosher, Michelle Saba, Shakiba (Jason) Bibeau, Joseph (Michelle) Saba and Shelly Hamilton, all of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Landyn, Laikynn, Dylainey, Cierra, Brecklynn, Morgan, Logan, Lily, Alexus, Jadynn and Jersey; one great grandchild expected in July; a sister, Diane (Russ) Gunderson of Fairfax; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert; and her grandparents, William and Tillie Tomash and Charles and Anna Sumner.
Jean was born April 4, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Robert Sumner and Marcella Tomash. She was employed at General Mills.
Jean was a member of St. Ludmila’s Catholic Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her life revolved around her family. She enjoyed spending time with them whether it be fishing, playing her guitar and singing, trips to the casino or just sharing a laugh. For those whom were blessed to know her, she will live on forever with our memories. Rest well our sweet angel.
