Jean Lois Dart, 71, of 2160 McGowan Blvd., Marion, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, from complications of leukemia. Services: 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Leonard Ranson. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday (March 24.)

Those left to cherish her memory include: five children, Calvin Dart and wife Linda of Cedar Rapids, LaDonna Kelley of Melbourne, Florida, Laura Curl and special friend Bill Minkler of Marion, Curtiss Dart of Vinton and Libby Dart and fiancé Mark Newman of Walled Lake, Michigan; five grandchildren, Chaunee Williams of Ina, Illinois, Shauna and Zachary Dart of Cedar Rapids, Christopher Knudsen of Marion and Megan Kelley of Melbourne, Florida; a great-grandchild, Jordan Williams of Ina, Illinois; two brothers, Herb Barnts and wife Jane of Monticello and William Barnts and wife Barb of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters-in-law, Jerry Ann Cummins and husband Phil of Iowa City and Delores Kinkead and husband Bob of Cedar Rapids; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Surviving also is her "Special? family including: Renee and Jim Corkery and family, Kathy and Dan Emmert and family, Brett and Jody Boyson and family, Terry Dawson and Rosalee Briner.

She was preceded in death by her husband; mother and father; in-laws; and a nephew.

Jean was born June 26, 1933, to George and Hilma Thompson Barnts in Monticello, Iowa. She married Phillip L. Dart at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, on July 27, 1952. He died August 23, 1991. They moved to Marion in 1958, where she has lived ever since. She worked at Peiffer?s Jewelry for 10 years, Philip?s Diamond Shop for 13 years and Boyson Jewely for 16 years before retiring in 2004.

Jean wished to give a special thank you to all the Cedar Rapids bus drivers who went out of their way and were so kind to get her where she needed to go in all kinds of weather. Your time was deeply appreciated.

Jean loved her children more that life itself, along with her friends, her work, her grandchildren and always her "Guardian Angel,? as she always called Shauna.

Jean was a beautiful person who will be deeply missed and forever loved. THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES!!!
