Jean A. Brockmeyer, 74, of Delhi, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at her home, following a sudden illness.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Delhi American Legion Post #160 by Pastor John Bailey. Family will greet friends following the service. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester is in charge of arrangements.
Jean was born October25, 1933 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harry and Gladys (Dall) Story. She graduated from Cuba City High School then worked as a waitress. On November 8, 1952 Jean was united in marriage to Neal C. Brockmeyer at the Methodist Church in Cuba City. The couple dairy farmed in Jenkinsville, Calimine and Mineral Point, Wisconsin before moving to Delhi in 1975.
Jean was a member of the Worldwide Church of God in Cedar Rapids and the American Legion Auxiliary. She sold Stanley Home Products.
Jean is survived by her husband, Neal Brockmeyer of Delhi; four children, Glenn (LaNette) Brockmeyer of Riceville, TN, Linda (Phil) Maitland of Keystone, Karla (Dan) Kelley of Monticello and Paul (Hiroko) Brockmeyer of Altus, OK; eleven grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a sister, Judy Harrison of East Dubuque, IL; a brother, Russell Story of Milwaukee, WI; and a sister-in-law, Delores Story of MN.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Gladys Story; an infant son, Gary; a brother, LaVern Story; one sister-in-law, Mary Story; and a son-in-law, Robert Schmidt.
