Janna M. Phelps, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, August 3, 2023. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. on August 15, 2023, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Burial: 2 p.m., August 15, 2023, Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City, Iowa.
Janna was born May 21, 1941, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Gerhard F. “Speed” Tuetken and Minnie (Ortgies) Fousek. She graduated from Anamosa High School and went on to attend Kirkwood Community College. Janna worked as a mainframe operator at CRST for 10 years. She loved animals, traveling with her mother, fishing with her father, and watching the leaves change colors in the fall.
Survivors include her children, Teresa (Okee) Jones of Cedar Rapids, Brian (Mary) Phelps of Ankeny, Iowa, and Joanna Phelps of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Reva (Richard) Van Antwerp, Leta “Susie” Betzer, Terry (Wanda) Tuetken, all of Anamosa, Iowa, and Rex Poppe of Cedar Rapids; and son-in-law, Jerry Osten of Cedar Rapids
She was preceded in death by her parents; young son, Christopher Phelps; daughter, Vicky Osten; and brother, Kerry Tuetken.
