Janie Y. Hymer, 60, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, July 26, 2014, at her home. Celebration of Life: 12-3 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a Service of Remembrance at 3 p.m. Entombment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her mother, Betty Countryman of Hannibal, Missouri; husband, Harold; son, Jaime Hymer and Nicole of Marion; sisters, Deborah (Russ) Brown, of Moore, Oklahoma, Peggy (Roger) Reeves, of Hannibal, Jackie (John) Conner of Cedar Rapids and Darlene (Dale) Rhodes of Hannibal; and her two dogs, Soldier and Petey.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence; and a sister, Tina.
Janie was born October 17, 1953, the daughter of Clarence and Betty (Eastling) Countryman, in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Washington High School in 1971. In 1972, she married Harold Hymer in Minnesota.
Janie was a perfectionist who enjoyed cooking and was an excellent seamstress. She was a member of the Our Family Church.
