Janice M. Miller, 54, of 7100 Mt. Vernon Road S.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, January 05, 2006, in her home following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Rick Gail. The family will greet friends from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Blaine Cemetery, Swisher, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Michael; a daughter, Tina Chittick of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Dolores (Clarence) Lewis of Wayland, IA; three brothers, David (Joy) Walters, of Tulane, Illinois, Steven Walters, of Brighton, Iowa, and Michael Lewis of Wayland, Iowa; and three sisters, Kathy (Robert) Martin of Texarkana, Arkansas, Sharon (Max) DeLay of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Ola (Jim) Williams of Wayland, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Walters.
Janice was born August 31, 1951, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Melvin and Dolores (Meyer) Walters. She married Michael Miller on February 12, 1988, in Cedar Rapids. She was a bartender and bookkeeper for various businesses. Janice enjoyed playing pool and darts, doing crossword puzzles and reading books. She also loved her Siamese cats.
