Janice Lavonne Bayard (Kolar)
August 14, 1915 — December 7, 2006
Janice L. Bayard, 91, a resident of West Ridge Care Center, died there Thursday, December 7, 2006, following a long illness. Per Janice?s wishes there will be no visitation. She will be cremated and interment will be in Muscoda, Wisconsin, at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Janice is survived by a sister, Genevieve Parker of Clinton, Maryland; a brother, Royce Kolar of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Kolar of Cedar Rapids and Lonnie Kolar of Platteville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald; and sisters, Anne and Dorothy.
Janice was born August 14, 1915, in Muscoda, Wisconsin, to Frank and Mary (Sale) Kolar. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Platteville, Wisconsin. She served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945 as a storekeeper second class. In April of 1949, she married Eugene Bayard who died in April of 1950. Janice then moved to Denver, Colorado, which she called home until October of 2001 when she moved to Cedar Rapids to be closer to her niece, Sarah Kolar.
