Janet Z. Wall, 70, of Manchester, formerly of Marion, died on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 29 at First Lutheran Church in Manchester with Rev. Harlan Kaden officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour before services on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Ryan.

Janet was born on June 28, 1934 the daughter of Ewald O. and Zatha M. (Schmidt) Skeries in Tripoli. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1952. On July 4, 1952 Janet was united in marriage to Donald A. Wall at the First Lutheran Church in Manchester. The couple resided in Waterloo and moved to Kansas when Don entered the U.S. Army. They later lived in Missouri and Chicago before Don?s discharge in 1955. The couple moved to the Marion area where Janet worked as a file clerk for insurance companies and ran her consignment shop, "Twice/New.? Janet and Don moved to Manchester in 1998.

Janet was a member of First Lutheran Church in Manchester and a former member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion. She enjoyed quilting with the church ladies, volunteering at Camp Courageous, crocheting and reading. Janet was a past-secretary of the Cedar Rapids Woodcarvers.

Janet is survived by her husband, Donald Wall of Manchester; her mother, Zatha Skeries of Manchester; two children, Cindy Wall of Manchester and Kirk Wall of Coggon; a sister, Jolene (Dick) Koch of Manchester, three brothers, David (Wanda) Skeries of Vinton, Douglas (Vera) Skeries of Cedar Rapids and Daniel (Connie) Skeries of LeClaire; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ewald Skeries.
