Janet J. O’Brien, 76, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Bickford of Marion. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services held at this time. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sanborn, North Dakota. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Janet was born on October 7, 1947, in Kulm, North Dakota, the daughter of Royal and Eva (Schock) Widmer. She was a 1965 graduate of Jamestown High School in Jamestown, North Dakota. On August 31, 1968, Janet was united in marriage to Dennis R. O’Brien in Jamestown, North Dakota. To this union, one son was born, Jeremy. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Janet will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janet is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Jeremy O’Brien (Shauna Lorenzo-Rivero) of Hixson, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
