Janet K. Noethe, 75, of Waterloo, formerly of Center Point, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 29, 2016, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 2-5 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Janet is survived by her children, Sandra (Kevin) Robinson of Dunkerton, Iowa, Jean (Don) Shirk of Waterloo, Iowa, James U. (Traci) Noethe of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and James G. “George” (Joni) Noethe of Marion, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Joyce Streeter, Charles Brown, Ronald Brown, and Bertha Pyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James in 2014; son, Scott Noethe: two brothers, Albert and Tom Brown; and sister, Sharon Cole.
Janet was born on July 17, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of Lyle and Ada (Price) Brown. She was married to James Noethe on June 7, 1961, at Salem United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids. Together they farmed in Hartley, Iowa and later moved to Cedar Rapids. Janet worked for Heins Soup Company until her retirement. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Cedar Rapids.
