Janet Louise Morris, 80, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday. Inurnment will be at a later date at Dunkard Cemetery, Toddville, Iowa.
Janet is survived by her husband, Allen; children, Dave (Valerie) Morris of Salina, Kansas, Doug (Dona) Morris of Wappapello, Missouri, Jeff (Pam) Morris of Wesley, Iowa, and Joel (Beth) Morris of Port Orchard, Washington; grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Miranda, Lindsey, J.D., Autumn, Dale, Kellie, Elise, Sarah, and Daniel; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Pat (Dave) Robinson; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Virginia “Ginny” Millard, Betty Holsinger, Nelson Morris, and Kenny (Linda) Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Millard.
Janet was born August 17, 1935 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Calvin and Olive (Annis) Millard. She graduated from Toddville High School. Janet married Allen Dee Morris on July 25, 1954. She worked for many years as an interior designer and furniture salesperson at Smulekoffs. Janet was a member of the Toddville Free Methodist Church.
The great loves of her life were her husband, sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a very special loving relationship with her sister Pat. She was very involved in her church teaching Bible Study. She enjoyed traveling and fishing, especially at their cabin on the Mississippi River.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Toddville Free Methodist Church or United Methodist Church in Central City.
