Janet L. Krehbiel (Warnock)
July 18, 1936 — August 13, 2008
Janet L. Krehbiel, 72, of Marion, was welcomed home by her angels, Wednesday, August 13, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Marion by Rev. Linda Livingston. A time of gathering will follow the service.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin of Marion; a son, Monte Krehbiel (fiancée Linda) of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Denise Krehbiel of Marion; a granddaughter, Melissa Schmidt of Marion; two sisters, Maxine (Don) Monroe of Macon, Georgia and Shirley (Elmer) Kasey of Cedar Rapids; a brother-in-law, Dennis (Carol) Krehbiel of Cambridge; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her favorite Aunt, Jerry.
Janet was born July 18, 1936, the daughter of Ralph and Addie (Forbes) Warnock in Ottumwa. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1955. Janet was united in marriage to Marvin H. Krehbiel on June 19, 1955 in Ottumwa. For many years she worked at the Marion High School cafeteria, and later for the Gazette/Penny Saver, retiring in 1998. She was an active member of the Keenagers at Ascension Lutheran Church.
Family and friends will remember Janet as a woman of faith; she was very gentle, had a great sense of humor and will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ascension Lutheran Church in Marion or to St. Luke’s Hospice.
