Jane Ann Osterhaus
June 3, 1953 — January 28, 2009
Jane Ann Osterhaus, 55, of Urbana, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center Main Campus in Des Moines, following a sudden illness. Memorial Mass: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Urbana by Father Dave Ambrosy. The family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point. Private family burial will take place.
Survivors include her father, George Osterhaus (Helen Lamphier) of Urbana; three brothers, Paul (Yong) Osterhaus of Centerville, Virginia, Alfred (CJ) Osterhaus of Cedar Rapids, and Charles Osterhaus of Hiawatha; two sisters, Theresa (Donald) Polton of Belle Plaine and Patricia Osterhaus of Hiawatha; and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret.
Jane was born June 3, 1953, the daughter of George and Margaret (Miller) Osterhaus in Cedar Rapids. She was employed by Smithway Transit Services. Jane was a driver’s trainer for Werner Trucking Company for many years. She loved animals, bicycling and participated in RAGBRAI. Jane was an avid outdoor adventurer and loved the open road.
