Jane L. Kramer, 79 of Mosinee, WI, formerly of Cedar Rapids, IA, left this earth and joined God and his angels Saturday, September 23, 2006 at her home, surrounded by the love of her family and with the compassionate support of TLC for Seniors and Aspirus Hospice Care. Services: Noon, Saturday, September 30, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Del Bear. The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors included three daughters, Terri (John III) Birnbaum, Mosinee, WI, Jill Whittemore and Linda (Sidney) Wingfield both of Sarasota, FL; two sisters, Evelyn Bierkamp and Lois (Maury) Curtis, both of Scottsdale, AZ; two brothers, Chuck (Pat) Welsh, Cedar Rapids, IA and Robert (Delmy) Welsh, Scottsdale, AZ.; her grandchildren, John IV (Jodie Schillinger) Birnbaum, Mosinee, WI, Andrea Birnbaum, Madison, WI, Mariah Whittemore, Sarasota, FL; two great-grandsons, John VI and Jaxsen Birnbaum; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Vera Welsh and Dorothy Morris; and a granddaughter, Staci Birnbaum.

Jane was born on July 15, 1927 to Charles and Maude Welsh in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She lived 71 years of her life in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The past eight years she resided in her adopted hometown of Mosinee, Wisconsin, where her loving daughter, Terri and son-in-law John, provided her with care and support. She was blessed with many new friends in Mosinee who made her feel so loved and at home.

Jane was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who always had a twinkle in her eye, a smile for a friend and a welcome heart for all. She enjoyed socializing with her friends and family, scooter rides around town with Sue, visits to Iowa to see her dear friends, playing cards and spending time with her two precious great-grandsons John and Jaxsen. Her passion in life was her devotion to her family, friends and faith in God.

Jane was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was also a devoted Prayer Warrior for the United Methodist Church of Mosinee where she spent hours offering her prayers and love to those in need.


The family would like to thank St. Claire?s Hospital, Aspirus Wausau Hospital and Hospice Care, and TLC for Seniors for providing loving care to make Jane?s last days as comfortable as possible. Also, thank you to Dr. Karen Shulman, Corinna, Paula and Mosinee Physical Therapy for their support.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family or Wausau Hospital Hospice Care.
