James C. Wright, 85, of 3205 Willowridge Road, Marion, Iowa, died there Monday, April 14, 2008, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Pastor Jim Luders. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores; children, William (Henrietta) Wright of Calumet City, Illinois, Thomas (Eileen) Wright of Tinley Park, Illinois and Linda (Todd) Ginther of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, William, Elizabeth, James, Patrick, Andrew, Stephanie, Michael, Dina, Erica and Patrick; and a sister, Jayne Josephson of Joliet, Illinois.
James was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Barbara; and a sister, Dorothy Golden.
James was born June 17, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of William and Gertrude (Cleary) Wright. On August 12, 1950, he was united in marriage to Dolores DeSantis in St. Peters Church, Chicago, Illinois.
James was an engineer and draftsman for FMC, Link-Belt Company, Crane & Excavator Division for 45 years.
James was a member of the Boy Scouts for 73 years where he earned the Silver Beaver award and was a member of the Order of the Arrow.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the members of St. Luke’s Hospice for their loving and compassionate care given to James.
