James Oliver Williams, 72, of Marion, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Maranatha Bible Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Aaron Telecky. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at the church in Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; daughter, Tammy (Ted) Maashoff of CA; son, Kenny (Celia) Williams of Cedar Rapids; step-children, Sandra (Vern) Weaver of AZ, Ron (Kim) Trembly of Chariton, IA, Joy (Steve) Tipton of Marion, Jerry (Paula) Seeman of Marion, Jeff Seeman of Cedar Rapids, Allen Seeman of IA, and David Jr. (Lyn) Seeman of Sumner; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Johnson of Crossett, AR; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Jim was born February 19, 1942, in Warren, Arkansas, the son of Fred and Doshie (Temples) Williams. He married Jean Elkins and together they had two children and later divorced. He then married Donna Holmes on May 22, 2004, at the Maranatha Bible Church in Cedar Rapids, where they were both members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Jack, Jerry, Don, and Bill.
