James Edward Mote
December 11, 1938 — February 18, 2023
James Edward Mote, 84, of Delhi, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2023, of natural causes. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is assisting the family.
He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Joy; his children, Jill, Jay (Mary), and Jon (Katie); granddaughters, Alexandra, Mia, Riley, and Daisy; brother, Kenneth (Mary); many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends and colleagues from far and wide.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Hazel Mote; sister, Barbara and her husband, Wallace Krouse; in-laws, Harold and Minnie Daker; and brothers-in-law, Daryl Daker and his wife, Francine, Marlin Daker and his wife, Margaret.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Marine Corps. League
