James E. Jones, 73, of 2411 1st Avenue SE, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, in VA Medical Center, Iowa City, from brain cancer. There will be no services. Inurnment:With military rites, Linwood Cemetery, at a later date. Arrangements are with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Esther; his children, Willie Braudaway of Del Rio, Texas, Gary Jones of Channelview, Texas, and Arthur Jones of Puyallup, Washington, and Esther Mary Young of Columbia, Missouri.
Also surviving are ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers and one sister; and one grandson.
James was born November 2, 1929, the son of Raymond and Eva Jones, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He served with the United States Army from 1951 to 1957. James worked as a security guard for St. Luke?s Hospital and later Lefebure in Cedar Rapids.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of James through Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home.
