James "Jim" Arthur Mcenany

James “Jim” Arthur McEnany,76, of Marion, Iowa, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, May 13, 2019, at his home. A Parish Vigil Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. The family will greet friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, conducted by Reverend David O'Connor. The family will also greet friends one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. Burial with military honors will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Jim was born on March 1, 1943, in Ryan, Iowa, to Louis and Stella (Lyness) McEnany. Jim graduated from East Buchanan High School in Winthrop, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army in France from 1964-1966 as a Military Policeman. He graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and managed Fifth Avenue Pharmacy for over 30 years before retiring in 2006. In 1969, he married Nadine Hostak and had two daughters, Jill and Jennifer. They later divorced. Jim married Audra (Hejlik) Busch in 1988, and they made their home in Marion, Iowa and Ft. Myers, Florida. He loved cooking, reading, playing golf, and all things baseball. He was very proud to be involved with the start of His Hands Free Medical Clinic and the Community Health Free Clinic. Jim had a special heart and was a strong advocate for those individuals who were uninsured or under insured and helped make sure they received the proper care or medicines needed. Among his many passions, Jim especially enjoyed the art and science of pharmaceutical compounding and the opportunity to use this knowledge to benefit others.
Jim had a quick wit and smile, and sought to make every person around him feel important. He loved learning and had an amazing bank of knowledge. He loved helping people. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Jim is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years, Audra McEnany; his daughters, Jill (Rob) Walsh and Jennifer (Chris) O’Brien; and stepsons, Bob Busch and Tom (Meg) Busch; he will be remembered with love by his seven grandchildren, Alexis, Jackson, AJ, Caitlyn, Ryan, Ciara, and Cayleigh; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Stella McEnany; sisters Peggy White and Linda Gerard; brother, Terry McEnany; parents-in-law, Ralph and Vlasta Hejlik; brother-in-laws, Mel Gerard, Larry Best, and Ralph Hejlik; nephew, Jereme Gerard; and niece, Kim Rolfs.
