James K. "Jim? Cramer, 83, of Manchester, died Friday morning, December 9, 2005 at his Lake Delhi home following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at the Delhi United Methodist Church by Pastor Julie May and Rev. John Kremer. Friends may call from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Manchester.

Jim was born August 28, 1922 in Delhi, the son of George L. and Olie Doolittle (Phelps) Cramer. He graduated from Delhi High School in 1939 then helped on the family farm. On December 8, 1942 Jim entered the United States Army and served during World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge. On October 5, 1943 Jim was united in marriage to Vivian I. Hamblin at the Manchester United Methodist Church. Upon his discharge on October 16, 1945, Jim returned to the Delhi area owning and operating a dairy farm with his wife. The couple moved to Manchester in 1948 when Jim began working for Eastern Iowa Breeding Association for Delaware County. Jim worked for and later purchased Baum Realty and continued working for the business when it was sold to F & M Bank. He retired in 1991. Jim raised beef cattle as a hobby. The couple moved to their Lake Delhi Home in 2002.

Jim was a member of the Delhi United Methodist Church and a fifty-year member of the Manchester United Methodist Church. He belonged to the Manchester Lions Club and Delhi American Legion. He enjoyed Saturday morning coffee at St. John?s in Delhi. Jim enjoyed Iowa Hawkeye basketball and football, wintering in Panama City Beach, Florida, and attending his grandchildren?s events. Jim loved spending time at Lake Delhi and pontooning on the lake with family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Vivian of Manchester; four children: Georgia (Michael) Deep of Elgin, IL, Roger (Roxie) Cramer of Spokane, WA, Gretchen (Russ) Domeyer of Dubuque and Kimberly (Patrick) Gordon of Iowa City; eight grandchildren: Shane (Cathy) Nemmers, Lance (Cari) Nemmers, Brett (Lila) Nemmers, Jared & Seth Cramer, Katie Domeyer and Catharine & Connor Gordon; four great-grandchildren, Nikolette, Brock & Dylan Nemmers and Savanna Nemmers; a brother-in-law, Allan (Mary) Hamblin of Lamont; and their Swedish foreign exchange student, Birgitta (Herman) Lindqvist currently of Paris, France.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, George & Olie Cramer; and one sister, H. Calista Little.
