James Leroy Christensen

James L. Christensen, 71, of Walker, Iowa, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at his home. Services: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011, at the United Methodist Church in Walker, by the Rev. Norm Kelley.
Survivors include his daughters, Julie Christensen of Cedar Falls and Amy Kolpek of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; his siblings, Karen (Don) Ham, Virginia Wahl, Maurice Christensen, Delorias (Bud) Morrison, Gladys Hirsch, Patricia Landt, Gerda Hirsch and Don (Marilyn) Christensen; and his best friend, Marty.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Donna Christensen.
James was born October 7, 1940, the son of Mouritz and Blanche (Miller) Christensen, in Iowa City, Iowa. He served with the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. For 20 years, James worked for the Cedar Rapids Country Club and retired from Cottage Grove.
He was a loving father and will be greatly missed.
