James M. Brouwer, 59, of 5200 Ely Road, SW, died Sunday, February 16, 2003, in Providence Hospital, Yakima, Washington, following complications from a heart condition. Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where friends may call from noon until service time on Saturday. Private Inurnment: Baker Cemetery, at a later date.
Survivors include his wife Wanda; his children, Susan Pagliarulo and husband Joe and Debra Brouwer, all of Atlanta, Georgia, Frank Hoffon, Tina Usher and husband Matt, all of Cedar Rapids and Theresa Rice and husband Max of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
James was born April 14, 1943, the son of Richard and Hazel Brouwer in Columbus, Georgia. He served as a Navy Seal with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Formerly of Georgia and a resident of Cedar Rapids since 1994, James married Wanda Glubka in July of 1997. He was an owner operator and contract carrier for Transport America.
