James A. "Jim? Brooks, 46, of Manchester, Iowa, died Friday evening, October 17, 2003, at his home from a brain tumor.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in Manchester with Rev. Dale Hutchcraft presiding. Family will greet friends from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19, at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Manchester. Private inurnment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Manchester.
Jim was born on November 26, 1956 at Tillamook, Oregon, the son of Calvin and Joan (McKeag) Brooks. He graduated from West Delaware High School in 1975. On June 12, 1981, Jim was united in marriage to Denise K. Perrinjaquet at Edgewood, Iowa. His working life was with water conditioning. He opened Brooks Water Conditioning Service in Manchester in 1989 and sold it to McAleer Water Conditioning, in 2002 due to failing health.
Jim was a member of First Baptist Church in Manchester. He liked to hunt and fish and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Denise; two daughters, Elizabeth and Rachael of Manchester; his parents, Joan and Kenneth Sheppard; in-laws Ramona and Eugene Perrinjaquet, all of Manchester, IA; a brother, John Brooks of San Jose, CA; a sister, Betsy (Jim) Annesser of Golden, CO; step-brothers and sisters, Larry (Peg) Sheppard of Manchester, IA, Steve (Mary) Sheppard of Coggon, IA, Sue (Steven) Raab of Philadelphia, PA, Kathy (Frank) Kelm of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Julie Boysen (John Buikema) of Aurora, IL; a brother-in-law, Brad (Elaine) Perrinjaquet of Edgewood, IA; aunts Marcia (Willard) Hawker of Manchester, IA, and Jane (Jack) Myers of Springfield, MO; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Brooks and his brother, Thomas M. Brooks.
