James V. Brislawn, 92, of Troy Mills, died Saturday, September 11, 2004, in his home, following a lengthy illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker, by the Rev. Gabriel Anderson. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday September 14, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills.

Survivors include his four sons, Jim (Sharon) Brislawn of Burlington, Jerry (Carole) Brislawn, Ronnie (Deanna) Brislawn and Tom Brislawn, all of Troy Mills; four daughters, Donna Browne of Coggon, Pat Willis of Cedar Rapids, Violet "Sis? (Bob) Fitzgerald of Ontario, California and Cindy Brislawn (Mark Vasey) of Troy Mills; 28 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Rosie; three brothers, Michael, Miles and Owen; four sisters, Marcella, Mame, Annie and Elsie; three grandsons; and two granddaughters.

James was born August 4, 1912, the son of Milo and Elsie Watsun Brislawn, in rural Prairieburg. On January 10, 1935, he was united in marriage to Rosie Taylor in Prairieburg. She died August 24, 1998. James served in the United States Army during World War II. For 50 years, he operated Brislawn Logging.
