Jacqueline M. Smith Taylor, 89, of Marion, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Unity Point Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 12 - 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Marion. Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. at the church by Rev. Dr. Jerry Springston.
Survivors include her son, Lynn Smith; her daughter, Tracy (Roger) Halstead; daughter, Sandy Brown; son, Greg Taylor; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Dr. Kenneth (Nancy) Tompkins; and her puppy, Dexter.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Dale Smith Jr. and Vernon L. Taylor.
Jackie was born March 21, 1928, the daughter of Lawrence and Rose (Card) Tompkins in Painted Post, New York. She graduated from High School in Bath, New York. Jackie worked at Northwestern Bell until her retirement. Jackie was a member of First Baptist Church in Marion for over fifty years.
