Jack Meinders, 90, of Cedar Rapids passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. A private graveside service will take place. An open house in celebration of Jack’s life will be held 1 – 4 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Discovery Living located at 1015 Old Marion Road NE Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Jack is survived by his adopted family at Discovery Living and To The Rescue.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Leonard.
Jack was born May 5, 1925 to William and Leona (Clarkson) Meinders in Waterloo, Iowa. He was an active member and volunteer of Westminster Presbyterian Church and also volunteered often at Prairie Woods and Witwer Senior Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Westminster Presbyterian Church or Discovery Living in Jack’s memory.
