Ivan Elwood Randall, 89, of Springville, died Friday, October 8, 2004, in Winslow House Care Center in Marion, after a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2004, at Springville Presbyterian Church in Springville, Iowa. Conducted by the Revs. Karen Downey Beals and Lee Roy Collins. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, from 1 - 4 p.m. today (Sunday,) and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Monday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; two sons, Philip Randall and wife Karen of Martelle, and Gregory Randall and wife Brenda of Springville; a sister, Audrey Beck and husband Robert of Mechanicsville; four grandchildren, Rebecca Barnes and husband William of Land O?Lakes, Florida, Russell Randall and wife Priscila of Florida, and Jennifer Jo and Alicia Marie Randall, both of Springville; three great-grandchildren, Brent, Nina and Sarah; a stepgranddaughter, Katie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ivan was born the son of Frank E. and Edna J. (Schenk) Randall on September 17, 1915, in Marion, Iowa. He graduated from Marion High School in 1933. On July 25, 1937, he was united in marriage to Mildred Anthes in Marion. Ivan and Mildred farmed most of their married life, except for ten years when they owned and operated a locker plant and grocery store in Whittier, Iowa. Ivan was postmaster of the Whittier Post Office, which was located in the grocery store. He was a member of Springville Presbyterian Church and served as a member of several boards and committees.
