Iva was preceded in death by her husband, Phil, on October 17, 1973. After Phil?s death, Iva worked as a sales associate for Younkers Department Store, retiring at the age of 74.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Fred Mollenhour of Vinton; and two sisters, Eva Fisher of Center Point and Ellen Demory of Richardson, Texas.

Iva was born March 24, 1914, near Glendive, Montana. She was the third of four children born to Frederick Everett and Philena Maude (Sarchett) Mollenhour, who were homesteading 160 acres near there. When Iva was four years old, her father died in the worldwide Spanish flu epidemic of 1918. Iva, her mother, and siblings then returned to her mother's hometown of Center Point. They came by train along with soldiers who were returning home after World War I.

Iva graduated from Center Point High School in 1932 and went on to attend Iowa State Teachers College. Upon graduation, she taught in rural schoolhouses around Center Point. Iva married Alvin Philip "Phil? Ondler on May 22, 1937, in Center Point. They made their home in Walker, where Phil worked for Standard Oil. Iva was an active member of the Walker Bible Church for over 60 years, where she touched the lives of many by teaching Sunday School and helping with AWANA CLUB and Vacation Bible School.

Words cannot express how special Iva was to her family. She loved to sew and blessed family and friends with many handmade quilts. She was also an avid reader and loved working in her yard and garden among all her plants and flowers.
