Irma K. Ross-Wigger, 93, of Manchester, died Friday morning, June 17, 2005 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2005 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester by Revs. Jill Mack and Wade Kirsteatter. Friends may call from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Irma was born the daughter of Fred and Katherine L. (Touro) Langhoff on September 27, 1911 in Marion. She graduated from Marion High School and attended Iowa State University in Ames. In 1933, Irma was united in marriage to Douglas Ross in Marion. The couple farmed east of Marion for twenty-five years before purchasing a farm in Milo Township, south of Manchester. Douglas died in 1972. Irma remained on the farm then married Melvin Wigger. She and Melvin farmed until retiring to Manchester.

Irma was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Manchester. In 2005, Irma was honored as a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star and was elected Worthy Matron several times. She received the Community Citizen Award from the Prairie Grange, belonged to Farm Bureau, Linn and Delaware County garden clubs, and was a Linn County 4-H leader. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, camping and traveling. Irma loved to care for her flowers.

Irma is survived by a son, Robert E. Ross of Central City; a daughter-in-law, Carol Ross of Manchester; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Katherine Langhoff; her husbands, Douglas Ross and Melvin Wigger; a son, Douglas L. Ross; grandsons, David Ross and infant Michael Ross; a daughter-in-law, Shirley (Scovel) Ross; and a brother, Ralph Langhoff.
