Irene “Rene” Kincheloe, 89, of Evanston, Illinois, formerly of Marion, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. The family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Cremation will take place following the visitation on Wednesday. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 3500 29th Avenue, Marion, conducted by Reverend Dennis Johnson. Inurnment will take place at Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.

Rene was born June 16, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Michael and Susanne (Salem) Moskovis. She was a 1947 graduate of East High School in Akron, Ohio, a 1951 graduate of Akron University and a 1952 graduate of Western Research Library earning her Masters in Library Science. On February 28, 1953, Rene was united in marriage to Raymond Kincheloe in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. She was employed at the Akron Public Library for 15 years and the Linn-Mar Schools for 19 years. Irene served on the Marion Public Library Board as President and later as a volunteer until 2008. She also volunteered with Brucemore and Granger House in Marion which earned her the Governor’s Volunteer of the Year award in 2007 from Governor Chester Culver. Rene will be great missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Susan (Tim) Salisbury of Evanston, Illinois, David (Nancy) Kincheloe of Golden, Colorado, and Janice (Gary) Zoet of Naperville, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Trevor) Noel of Evergreen, Colorado, Katie (Greg) O’Brien of Evanston, Illinois, Stephanie (Steve) McKellar of Nashville, Tennessee, Joshua (Lacey) Kincheloe of Nashville, Tennessee, Michael Salisbury of Chicago, Illinois, Rachel Zoet of Dallas, Texas, and Ben Zoet of Kansas City, Missouri; two great-granddaughters, Iris and Edith Noel; and siblings, Wilma Drayer of Clinton, Ohio and L. Michael Moskovis of New Castle, Delaware.

Rene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; and sister, Annetta Moore.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rene’s memory may be directed to the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection or the Marion Public Library.
