Irene S. Meyer

Irene S. Meyer, of 1282 10th St., died Friday, December 2, 2005, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, following a short illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Marion by Rev. Thomas Hedtke. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Lowden.
Survivors include her son Dale (Mary Jo) Meyer of Marion; a brother, Irvin Meyer of Manchester; four sisters, Edna Meyer of Manchester, Norma (Paul) Hugh of Monticello, Ila (Robert) Meader of Cedar Rapids and Iva Taylor of Manchester; four grandchildren, Daniel, Steven Sr., Penny and Arthur; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arnold and Hugo; and two sisters, Wilma and Hattie.
Irene was born January 7, 1913, the daughter of Herman D. and Marie M. (Schade) Meyer in Ocheyedan, Iowa. On March 28, 1937, she married August C. Meyer in Lowden. He died July 30, 1970. Irene was a member of St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Marion.
