Irene Bruce, 68, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016, at her home. Visitation: 4 – 6 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2016, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marion, conducted by Reverend Jerry W. Doellinger. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Irene is survived by her husband, Gary; children, Brandy (Chris) Panosh, and Brooke Bruce; grandchildren, Zachary and Brianna Panosh; and sister, Gayle (Bob) Larson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Ardith and Carolee.
Irene was born March 23, 1948, in West Union, Iowa, the daughter of Arlo and Fern (Appelman) Homewood. She graduated from North Fayette High School. Irene was employed at Rockwell Collins for 35 years. She enjoyed crafts, dolls, and cooking. Irene spent most of her retirement spoiling and babysitting her grandchildren.
